~ All About Ms. Courtney ~

Ms. Dawn Courtney is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma who is certified to teach grades K-3 along with  English, Math, Science, & Social Studies in grades 6-8. She was named National Outstanding Female in 2000 by the American Association of University Women and is a member of the National Science Foundation Merit Scholars' and Educators' Association. Ms. Courtney has served as treasurer for the Edmond Reading Council and belongs to many professional reading associations including the IRA and NRA. She was trained in Great Expectations,  Dr. Ruby Payne's "aha!" process, "Closing the Achievement Gap", Literacy 1st, School's Attuned/PACE, Ron Clark's Essential 55, Brain Compatible Strategies, Dr. Mel Levine's "A Mind at a Time", the Applebaum Training Institute's "Hard to Handle Student", "Motivating the Unmotivated" and Dr. Jim Fay's "Teaching & Parenting with Love & Logic". Ms. Courtney is also the proud teacher of a Reading Renaissance Master Classroom.
